This camera was easy to use. It has plenty of features. The price at Amazon was unbeatable. You cant go wrong with this purchase. I bought two!

My see-point-shoot need of a camera didn’t warrant any thing but a simple, small and cheap camera and this one seemed to fit the bill. Found it listed for under $100 from Amazon and bought it. Turns out it is MUCH better than what I thought I was buying. I think Amazon thinks it was much better than what it was selling, too, since they now have the price over $100 by quite a bit. Still a steal. I bought a 4GB retail memory chip and a couple spare batteries, plus a car charger. And, a small form fitting case. Now I can put it in my shirt pocket and just pull it out, shoot, and put it back in my pocket! No lens problem, no peeking through a hole problem. And no filling up the chip problem, even with movies.Perfect camera. I am about to order another one and send it directly to my son, who can use it in his field work to document by movie his inspections of his petrocnemical plant and almost instantly create screen slides for his maintenance team members. Outstanding camera, for fun or work.

This is actually a very good camera contrary to the other reviews, especially for its price. The problem is batteries – you can’t use just any battery with this camera. Regular alkalines and cheaper rechargeables will not do the trick. Sony 2500 mAh AA Rechargeable Nimh Batteries, 4-pack should be sufficient. When I was using alkalines the camera would freeze when open, as others have said, and suddenly drop to low battery when the battery isn’t really low. The problem is regular batteries don’t have enough kick for this camera so it will show that the battery is full until it actually tries to use some power. The manual itself states that 2500 mAh batteries are suggested, although it should say they are *required*, on the front of the box, in big bold letters.

As for the camera itself, it may not be a professional’s camera, but it would definitely work for the common family. Max image res is 3072×2304. It can take 640×480 video at a good framerate, but you’ll definitely want a rather high capacity SD card if you wish to do that regularly. There’s an abundance of modes and settings to play with.

Great camera, especially for the price (worth twice as much), but don’t forget good batteries and an SD card.

I purchased this camera for my father for Christmas. He had previously used a Fuji fine pix that had to have the alkaline batteries replaced very frequently. It was very important to me that the rechargeable batteries last a long time. I have a Samsung digital camera as well and knew that the rechargeable battery held it’s charge a long time. This camera does not disappoint. It takes great pictures and is very user friendly. I wanted to make sure the buttons were easily distinguishable and simple for him to decipher. I am very happy with this purchase and would recommend it to others because of it’s great picture quality, long life rechargeable battery and ease of use.

I bought this camera because it had many good features at a good price.When I got the camera and tried it out I found all the features worked pretty well as advertised.Unfortunately, I didn’t have much time to test because the non-rechargable battery gave out after about 20 shots and downloading these to the computer.

The camera comes with a non-rechargable CP-1 battery which is hard to find and costs $10 at Best Buy and more elsewhere.I thought maybe it was just a defective battery and bought a new one.This time I got about 25 shots and about a 5 second movie.Then the camera shut down because of “low battery.”All this occurred after I had set the LCD to be off most of the time and in the dimmest mode when it was on (totally invisible outside).

The camera uses only the CP-1 battery.A rechargable version is available.Perhaps if you buy and use the re-chargable CP-1 battery and charger this camera would be satisfactory, but I just didn’t want to take a chance of investing more in this camera and finding that even the re-chargable had a very short life.As it was, I was spending about $10 in batteries to get about 25-30 shots with downloading and review.At most I seemed to get about 30 minutes operation.This was not satisfactory.

Regarding the actual operation, the features seemed to work but the focus was not particularly reliable even for what I considered a basic subject centered shot.

All in all I think a lot of work went into a this camera to have it be so small and yet have so many features.Unfortunately, based on the battery situation alone I cannot recommend it.I returned the camera.
